2009 Digital Transition Coupon Program Now in Effect

As of January 1, 2008, television viewers needing to aquire a digital converter box in time for the Digital Transition occuring in 2009 may now apply for the TV Converter Box Coupon Program. This Coupon Program was developed by Congress in order to assist households wishing to still use analog televisions after the transition occurs. The Coupon Program allows for each qualifying household to receive up to two $40 coupons to use toward the purchase of digital converter boxes.

You are only eligible to apply for the TV Converter Box Coupon Program if you currently use "bunny ears" or an antenna to receive free over-the-air television broadcasts. Pay TV customers, such as cable TV or satellite TV, are not eligible for the Coupon Program.
